Carel Pèdre est le créateur du projet "The New Haiti Project" (TNHP). Né en Haïti, Carel vient de la ville de Port-de-Paix (Nord-Ouest, Haïti). Aujourd'hui, Carel vit à Pétion-Ville, où il gère la station de Radio One, 90.1 FM. Il anime une émission très populaire titrée "The Morning Show" diffusée quotidiennement à travers Haïti. Auparavant, Carel a travaillé comme porte-parole du bureau local de la "Pan-American Health Organization/World Health-Organisation of Health" (OPS / OMS) (Organisation Mondiale de la Santé) à Port-au-Prince. Carel a d'excellentes idées sur la reconstruction de son pays faisant appel au "systems thinking", et aux nouvelles technologies disponibles pour une collaboration rapide et facile sur à travers Internet.
